Position Summary
Dean & Draper Insurance Agency is seeking a highly experienced Claims Supervisor to support our Risk Management Department. This role is a senior-level individual contributor responsible for managing and coordinating client claims across both commercial and personal lines, providing strategic guidance, and delivering exceptional client service.
The Claims Supervisor will act as a primary liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring claims are handled efficiently, exposures are minimized, and clients receive proactive, high-level support throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Oversight & Coordination
- Manage and monitor the lifecycle of client claims (commercial and personal lines) from initial reporting through resolution
- Coordinate with carriers, adjusters, and third-party administrators to ensure timely and effective claim handling
- Review complex and high-exposure claims and provide strategic recommendations
- Monitor reserves, claim development, and settlement strategies
Client Claim Reviews & Advocacy
- Coordinate and lead client claim review meetings, including preparation of loss summaries and trend analysis
- Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for clients during the claims process
- Provide regular updates and clear communication regarding claim status and expectations
- Assist clients with reporting procedures, documentation, and escalation of issues
Carrier & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, adjusters, and vendors
- Escalate claim handling issues to ensure prompt and equitable resolution
- Collaborate with legal counsel, medical providers, and other third parties as needed
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze loss runs to identify trends, frequency, and severity drivers across both commercial and personal lines
- Prepare detailed claims reports and presentations for clients and internal teams
- Support account teams with claims insights for renewal strategy and risk improvement
Risk Management Support
- Partner with Risk Management and Account Teams to develop recommendations that reduce claim frequency and severity
- Identify systemic issues and recommend corrective actions, including training and operational improvements
- Support implementation of client-specific safety and claims management initiatives
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Maintain best practices for claims management and client service delivery
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines, and agency standards
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance client outcomes
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Insurance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of claims handling experience in commercial and/or personal lines (carrier, TPA, or agency)
- Experience handling or overseeing auto, general liability, property, and workers’ compensation claims
Required Licenses
- Active Texas Claims Adjuster License (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of commercial and personal lines coverages and claims practices
- Ability to analyze loss data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly in client-facing settings
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Designations
- AIC, ARM, CPCU, or similar industry designation a plus
