The 2020 hurricane season begins on June 1 and runs through November 30. Just what you wanted to hear. Since we all now go to the store with the hope of finding what we need instead of the certainty of getting those items, we thought we would give you the opportunity to begin your preparations a bit early. First, a look at the forecast for this year’s season.
The Colorado State University projections indicate: “We anticipate that the 2020 Atlantic basin hurricane season will have above-normal activity. Sea surface temperatures averaged across the tropical Atlantic are somewhat above normal. We anticipate an above-average probability for major hurricanes making landfall along the continental United States coastline and in the Caribbean.”

Cloth face coverings are not a substitute for physical distancing. Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others in public. Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unable to remove it without help.
Depending on your family’s requirements, you may need to include medical-care items, baby supplies, pet supplies and other things, such as extra car and house keys.
Additional supplies might include towels, plastic sheeting, duct tape, scissors and work gloves.
